We are looking for actors to perform to take part in an immersive staging exploration of the Civil Blood: A Treaty Story script at Fort Edmonton Park.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Thou Are Here Theatre is committed to diverse, inclusive casting. We encourage submissions from artists who self-identify as members of under-represented communities. *Please note some roles are specifically for individuals comfortable playing Nêhiyaw We welcome submissions for these roles from First Nations, Metis, or Inuit artists.
● Kahkakis (he/him) 20s-40s “Little raven.” Metis son to Governor Sampson.
● Waciy (he/him) 30s-70s “Mountain/hill,” grand chief of the Nêhiyaw village.
● Astêkamâw (she/her) 30s-70s “It is still water,” the healer of the Nêhiyaw.
● Julian (he/him) 20s-30s Last Chief Trader of the Fort. Still, quiet, and intellectual.
● Governor (he/him) 30s-70s A high ranking member of the Hudson’s Bay Company
● Father Lawrence (he/him) 30s-70s A lead missionary and holy man of Fort Edmonton.
The production’s rehearsals and performance will occur in person. Artists will perform the show in an open air environment at Fort Edmonton Park in close proximity to the other artists and audience members.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
● Resume and headshot
● This is a non-equity production. We can only engage non union members at this time.
● The production pays an honorarium of $300.
● Only Edmonton area based artists may apply.

COVID-19 POLICY
Thou Art Here Theatre’s vaccination protocol will be in place for this workshop: everyone working on the project is expected to be fully vaccinated (if they are medically able). A Covid-19 Policy protocol will be included as a rider to your contract.
